The teacher will be responsible for delivering Chinese language instruction at the Secondary level. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to a supportive and culturally diverse learning community. The expected start date for this role is either Spring 2026 or August 2026. MABIS seeks an educator who is committed to long-term educational development and who can help students gain confidence in learning and using the Chinese language in a multicultural setting. Applicants should hold a Montessori diploma for ages 3–6 or 6–12 from recognized organizations such as AMI, AMS, or MACTE. A minimum of five years of teaching experience is required, ideally including experience in international school environments. Candidates must also possess a valid teaching license issued in China or Taiwan. In addition, applicants should have achieved Level 2-A or higher on the Putonghua Proficiency Test (PSC). Expertise in areas such as Chinese language education, Chinese history, classical literature or philosophy, or traditional Chinese medicine is highly valued. Skills in cultural fields like drama, dance, music, art, or martial arts are also considered advantageous. Experience teaching Chinese as a foreign or additional language is essential. Familiarity with educational frameworks such as Montessori, IB, AP, or project-based programs is strongly preferred. Teachers should feel comfortable designing interdisciplinary lessons and facilitating project-based learning experiences that connect language with culture and real-world contexts. Strong English communication skills are necessary for collaboration within the international school environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates a genuine passion for working with young learners and approaches teaching with patience, warmth, and empathy. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues are important qualities.
