The coordinator will also supervise student placement procedures, including the administration of placement tests. Ensuring that students are placed in the appropriate level is an important part of maintaining the quality and effectiveness of the learning programmes. Another responsibility includes monitoring teaching quality through classroom observations, reviewing student progress, and providing constructive feedback to teachers. The coordinator will also organize academic meetings, workshops, and collaborative learning sessions among staff members. In addition, the Programme Coordinator will support teachers with classroom management strategies, assessment procedures, and proper academic record keeping. When necessary, the coordinator may also teach classes as part of the centre’s academic programme. Administrative duties include maintaining an accurate inventory of textbooks, teaching materials, and other academic resources. The coordinator must also ensure that reports, receipts, and documentation are submitted to the appropriate departments on time. The position also requires safeguarding important materials such as examination papers and student records. Ensuring that facilities, equipment, and learning spaces are safe and properly maintained is another essential responsibility. Applicants should ideally hold a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics, Education, English, TEFL/TESL, or a related field, although candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and relevant professional experience may also be considered. The role requires at least four years of ESL or EFL teaching experience and three years of experience in a managerial or programme coordination position within English language education. Experience with international English proficiency frameworks and examinations such as CEFR, Cambridge, TOEFL, and IELTS is highly beneficial. Successful applicants should also possess strong organisational and interpersonal skills, excellent written and spoken English, and the ability to work with diverse teams in a multicultural environment. Skills in data analysis, budgeting, resource management, and educational software are also valuable for this role.
