Write or Paste Ad The International School of Pha Ngan (ISPG), located on Koh Phangan in Surat Thani, Thailand, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic full-time Primary Music Teacher to join its academic team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to inspire young learners through a dynamic and engaging music education program.

The successful candidate will teach music using the Cambridge Primary Music curriculum for Stages 1–6. The role focuses on developing students' musical skills while encouraging creativity, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for music through performance, composition, and critical listening.

Teachers will deliver lessons covering the three main areas of the Cambridge Music framework: music performance and composition, understanding music through listening and context, and evaluating musical works. Lessons should be interactive, enjoyable, and suitable for primary-aged students.

The position also involves leading whole-class instrumental lessons using instruments such as the ukulele, recorder, or percussion. In addition, the teacher will be responsible for maintaining and organizing the school's musical instruments and other music-related resources.

Collaboration is an important aspect of the role. The Music Teacher will work closely with Primary Homeroom teachers to create cross-curricular learning experiences by connecting music with subjects such as History, Science, and Global Perspectives whenever appropriate.

The successful applicant will organize and direct musical performances throughout the school year, including assemblies, the annual Winter Show, and the End-of-Year Graduation Ceremony. The teacher may also occasionally lead "Music and Movement" sessions for children aged three to five, combining Montessori-inspired activities with structured music learning.

Another responsibility includes introducing students to basic music technology and digital recording tools such as GarageBand or Chrome Music Lab, helping learners explore modern approaches to music creation and production.

Applicants should hold a bachelor's degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or a closely related field, along with a recognized teaching qualification such as QTS, PGCE, or an equivalent certification. A minimum of two to three years of primary music teaching experience is required, and familiarity with the Cambridge or UK National Curriculum is considered highly desirable.

Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in at least one musical instrument, with piano or guitar preferred for classroom accompaniment. Experience directing choirs or small ensembles, knowledge of teaching approaches such as Orff, Kodály, or Dalcroze, and experience supporting English as an Additional Language (EAL) learners through music will be viewed as strong advantages.
